A message from Sensei Jill:
Well done to all our students who graded yesterday at Whitburn Church of England Academy, especially as it has been a really difficult year. We have trained on Zoom, in business park fields/football ground car parks, and only recently inside in a small hall!
Well done to Gemma passing 3rd Dan, Denny passing 2nd Dan, and Charlotte, Callum, Katie and Georgie passing 1st Dan. We had no failures, but a few referrals for kata only, which means those students passed two thirds of their grading, and just need to improve their katas. Sensei Trish and I can do this, if we get a clear run over the next few months, and no further restrictions to get in our way.
A special mention must be made to Gemma Gibson who passed 3rd Dan. I know she has been training hard all this year, in addition to running her own club with her brother Dylan. A dedicated karateka and we are proud of her!
